Hot on the heels of this week’s announcement that indie group, The National was joining Coldplay on the soundtrack for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, another star contributor was revealed yesterday (September 25). And this time we have a kick-ass female vocalist to take on the boys.
The lovely lady is none other than The Voice coach and “Fighter” singer, Christina Aguilera. Taking to her Twitter account, Christina posted the following message:
Love the underlying message of @TheHungerGames. "We Remain" is special new song, its message to my fans & how I connect w/ the movie, alike.
— Christina Aguilera (@xtina) September 25, 2013
E! reports that it is unclear whether Christina plans to release the song as a single. However, Zap2It anticipate that like Coldplay’s “Atlas”, “We Remain” will have a release date within a month.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire hits cinemas on November 22. Advance tickets for the film go on sale October 1. The release date for the film’s soundtrack has not yet been announced.
