The dynamic duo behind The Hunger Games will be teaming up again for a project announced by Universal Pictures.
Jennifer Lawrence and director Gary Ross have been tapped for the film adaption of the 1952 book, East of Eden written by John Steinbeck.
Deadline reports that the story will be made in a two part saga that will tell the story of “sons who compete for the attention of their farmer father in Salinas, CA.” The book had previously been adapted for the silver screen back in 1955 and starred James Dean and Richard Davalos as the sons.
Jennifer is rumored to star as Cathy Ames, the “cruel” and “cold” mother of the boys. No other casting decisions have been made as of this writing.
Sounds like another potential Oscar nomination for Lawrence if you ask me.
Until East of Eden hits theaters, be sure to catch the Kentucky beauty in the second installment of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire due in theaters this November.
