Cate Blanchett has worked with many of the top directors. She has worked with Peter Jackson, Martin Scorsese, and David Fincher, but she really scored the jackpot when she landed the role of Jasmine in Woody Allen’s film Blue Jasmine.
Everyone knows that every Woody Allen film is brilliant and so does Cate. She said to Digital Spy that she almost gave up on working with him. In an interview with them she said, “ I’d given up working with him. I mean he makes a film a year and I’ve been making films for a while now. When we met face-to-face, he said he really had loved me in the Talented Mr. Ripley which was… god that was made a while ago now; I said you took your bloody time,”
Cate is the lead in this Woody Allen film. Blue Jasmine is about a rich woman whose husband has been caught in a financial scandal. Alec Baldwin plays her husband and the supporting actors and actresses include Louis CK, Sally Hawkins, Bobby Cannavale, Andrew Dice Clay and Peter Sarsgaard. Jasmine is out now in both the US and the UK.
