Just as the 25th season of hit Fox show, The Simpsons, received its premiere last weekend, executive producer Al Jean has warned fans to be ready to bid farewell to a Springfield resident this season.
In a interview with Canada’s Sun News, Jean was not being drawn as to the identity of the resident who will meet an untimely end, however he did say, “I’ll give you a clue that the actor playing the character won an Emmy for playing that character, but I won’t say who it is.”
This clue still leaves much room for who it could be as a number of voice stars have won for their roles in The Simpsons, including Kelsey Grammer for the murderous Sideshow Bob and Julie Kavner who plays a number of roles including Marge Simpson herself. The show has a history of leaving breadcrumbs for fans to follow, who can forget the now classic Who Killed Mr Burns storyline, which was the closer for Season Six!!!! It is also not the first time that the Grim Reaper will have called on the town of Springfield, Maude Flanders met a sticky end when she killed off 14 years ago. Boy do I feel old!
I, for one, hope that is is not Ms Kavner because that would potentially mean that Homer could lose his Marge, and then who would save Homer from himself?
The Simpsons airs on Fox every Sunday with guest stars to include Amy Poehler and Daniel Radcliffe.
