Will Star Trek Be Heading Back To TV? Bryan Fuller Calls For It

Television needs to go boldly where it hasn’t gone in a long, long time. It’s time to head to outer space in another Star Trek series. At least, that is Bryan Fuller’s prerogative.

I couldn’t help but agree with the Hannibal creator. It’s been many years since a series has been on the small screen. It is “such a big universe” that there are countless stories to be told with its many worlds and beings.

Fuller wants to create the show because he is emotionally attached to this science fiction empire. His writing career “as a writer in Hollywood” was in not one, but two installments of the franchise (Voyager and Deep Space Nine).

There is no word about whether or not Fuller will get to bring his vision to life just yet. However, if he ever gets to bring his dreams to the small screen, it surely will be innovative and impressive, much like Hannibal is. Fuller has an idea for his Star Trek, but he isn’t talking about them (at least not yet).

In an interview, the storyteller did pose a question pertaining to the newest two installments to the series that could clue fans into the possible plot. “How would The Next Generation evolve? How, indeed, would things be different?

A third installment to the rebooted series is in the works. Little is known about the possible 2016 movie. However, some things are clear. JJ Abrams, who is busy working in another galaxy far, far away (Star Wars) will not be directing the film. Zachary Quinto and Chris Pine will reprise their roles as younger Spock and Captain James T. Kirk.

In the meantime, to get a Star Trek fix you can check out Into Darkness on Blu ray or DVD. That will just have to do for now. I for one, can’t wait to see what is up next for the enduring series!
