Four new posters of Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug have been unveiled, via The Hobbit’s official Twitter.
The new posters showcase the returning characters from the first chapter of The Hobbit trilogy, including Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins, Sir Ian McKellen as Gandalf the Grey, Lee Pace as Thranduil, and Richard Armitrage as Thorin Oakenshield.
Also featured in the new posters are a couple of new characters. Evangeline Lily makes her debut as Tauriel, alongside Lord of the Rings alum Orlando Bloom as Legolas.
It’s important to note that Lily’s elf warrior is the only original character not adapted from J.R.R. Tolkien’s novel. Also making his debut in his very own character poster is Luke Evans as Bard the Bowman.
With a December 13, 2013 release date, you can expect a lot of promotion for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug over the next couple of months.
