Ladies and gentlemen, we have our Scarlet Witch.
It has been confirmed by Nick Fury himself (Samuel L. Jackson) that Elizabeth Olsen will indeed be playing the role of Scarlet Witch in the upcoming Avengers sequel, Avengers: Age of Ultron.
“I don’t think we begin shooting before March of next year,” Jackson told The Wall Street Journal. “I know we’re shooting in London, that James Spader is Ultron and going to be the bad guy, and that we added Ms Olsen. But I don’t know what she’s doing, if she’s on the inside or the outside. I haven’t seen a script.”
I for one am I fan of Mary Kate and Ashley’s younger sister, and she was definitely in my top two for the role. The other actress being Saoirse Ronan, who is rumored instead to be on the short list for the role of Han Solo and Princess Leigh’s daughter in the new Star Wars film.
Olsen will be joined on screen be her Godzilla co-star Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who will be playing the role of Quicksilver (Scarlet Witch’s brother).
Avengers: Age of Ultron is due out in 2015.
