Julianne Moore is the 2,507th celebrity to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Her husband and two children, as well as guest speakers Chloe Grace Moretz and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, joined the 52-year-old actress at her ceremony on October 3.
Both actors star with Moore in recent films—horror remake Carrie and Don Jon, respectively.
According to OTRC.com, Moretz praised Moore during her speech at the ceremony. “I am so excited to be here to honor my great friend and mentor…She has taught me how to be a brilliant mom one day and how to have one of the most amazing, long lasting careers and how to be the most beautiful person inside and out,” she said.
“She’s not faking it when she’s performing. She’s feeling what the character is feeling. It’s a difficult thing to do and it’s a fine line, but an audience can tell it right away,” Levitt added.
Moore’s communicated her own excitement as she made her own speech: “I never expected this, I really didn’t. I’m thrilled and shocked to be included in this community on the Walk of Fame. I’m even more gratified that my pursuit of the imaginary has led to so much real life for me.”
The British-American actress began her career in the 1980s, with a regular role on soap opera As The World Turns, for which she received a Daytime Emmy Award. Since then, she’s had countless award nominations, including four Academy Award nominations, and has acted in more than sixty films.
Her next role is President Alma Coin in the two final movies of the Hunger Games franchise, Mockingjay Parts 1 & 2.
Carrie opens in US theaters on October 18th.
