Star of Doctor Who Neve McIntosh has given her opinion about the casting of Peter Capaldi as the 12th Doctor.

The actress, who plays Madame Vastra in the series, recently spoke to Flicks and the City at the London Film and Comic Con as well as meeting her fans nicknamed “Nevelets” said, “It will be sad not to be working with Matt again but I’m really looking forward to Peter taking over and seeing what he does with it.”

She also told Flicks and the City that Vastra, her human partner Jenny and Strax will be apart of the next series in 2014,” We’ll be helping the Doctor more, but I can’t say anything else.”

McIntosh, also praised show runner Steven Moffat choice of having Vastra, Jenny and Strax living in Victorian England. “We can do so much in Victorian times, it’s got that steam punk edge to it. Think how freaky that era was with the Elephant Man and all that and just add us into the mix, with time travel, and all sorts of weird, wonderful stuff.”

Doctor Who will celebrate its 50th Anniversary with a special feature length epsiode  on November 23rd. The episode, titled “The Day of the Doctor” will star Matt Smith, David Tennant, Jenna Coleman, Billie Piper and John Hurt.
