If you liked Slumdog Millionaire and 127 Hours, you’ve got a whole lot more to be excited about. Danny Boyle, director of Trainspotting and 28 Days Later, will once again be teaming up with writer Simon Beaufoy and producer Christian Colson. The trio previously won multiple awards for both Slumdog Millionaire and 127 Hours. This time, however, they’ll be creating a miniseries on FX.
The ten-episode show, titled Telemark, will be about Norwegian soldiers who worked to stop Hitler from developing nuclear weapons during World War II. If it seems complicated, that’s because it is. The soldiers were trained by Britain’s Special Operations Executive to shut down Hitler’s plan to create the weapons.
“This incredible story is ideally suited to the slower burn and added complexity that the longer format allows, and I can’t wait to get my teeth into this,” said Beaufoy.

Although this is a moment that may not have gotten a lot of attention in history books.

Boyle said “This is one of the world’s greatest stories, and we want to tell it on an epic scale.” It sure does sound pretty exciting, and fans of this trio’s work will definitely be in for a good long treat.

We’ll let you know as soon as we know when it’s set to air!
