More bad news comes from Ubisoft this week as they announce that the release of their new open-world racer game The Crew will be delayed.

Everyone will now have to wait until the third quarter of 2014 for the game instead of the original release date, which was set for early next year.

This news comes right off the heels of the postponement of another Ubisoft game Watch Dogs. We reported that Watch Dogs will now have a Spring 2014 release.

The Crew was first revealed at E3 this year and is a massive open-world next-gen racer that provides the entirety of the United States as the gamer’s playground. It allows for both single-player and co-op gaming as well as letting the player highly customize their car inside and out.

Ubisoft co-founder and CEO Yves Guillemot commented on the delayed release saying, “Our long term goal is to win the next generation. The tough decisions we are taking today to fully realize the major potential of our new creations have an impact on our short-term performance.”

“We are convinced that, longer term, they will prove to be the right decisions both in terms of satisfaction for our fans and in terms of value creation for our shareholders. We are building franchises that will become perennial pillars of Ubisoft’s financial performance. In a context of growing successes for mega-blockbusters, the additional time given to the development of our titles will allow them to fulfill their huge ambitions and thus offer players even more exceptional experiences.”

The Crew looks like games that worth the wait, especially if the time taken will culminate in an even better gaming experience.

The Crew will be available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
