Samuel L. Jackson, who will be reprising his role as Nick Fury in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and The Avengers: Age of Ultron, recently spoke about his expanded role in Marvel’s Phase Two films.

In a recent interview with Digital Spy while promoting his recent animated film, Turbo, Jackson discussed previous and upcoming Marvel films.

In regards to the writing of the Marvel films, he said, “They’ve given the characters a sort of humanity that allows audience members to feel like, ‘Well, I could be like one of those guys.’”

Jackson had nothing but nice things to say about director Joss Whedon. He saidd, “Joss is so smart and so in tune to that word, that I don’t think they’ve found another person that has that kind of finesse, in terms of what that means, and he’s created so many things that people relate to that Joss is one of those people.”
