ITV2 has confirmed that The Vampire Diaries will be returning to the airwaves this month. The season five premiere of the hit vampire series will air on Tuesday, October 29th, at 9pm. Those who live in the US are already two episodes into season five, so to fans and viewers in the UK, you’ve got some catching up to do.
The first episode of season five, “I Know What You Did Last Summer”, starts with Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) moving into the dorms at college, after enjoying a relaxing summer while having a passionate relationship with Damon (Ian Somerhalder).
More good news for The Vampire Diaries UK fans; The Originals, which is a spin-off series to The Vampire Diaries, will be airing on Syfy. The Originals tells a story based on the Mikaelson family – Klaus, Rebekah, and Elijah, (whom you may have seen back in season two of The Vampire Diaries) and is set to air on October 22nd at 10pm.
