Watch The Full Munch Roast Scene From This Week’s SVU

It was big night for Law & Order: SVU this week… Sgt. John Munch said his goofy goodbyes and left the show with a dignified farewell. It was a special moment for long term fans who’ve stuck with the show for 15 seasons.

Now showrunner Warren Leight has released an uncut version of the goodbye toast to Munch that we (briefly) saw Wednesday night. The toast was more like a comedy roast of sorts; the Sergeant’s much loved colleagues took turns congratulating him on his move to the DA’s office (he’s becoming a special investigator!) and jibing him with memorable moments.

Munch’s move signals a significant departure for the actor, Richard Belzer who undoubtedly felt he was saying goodbye to a host of great friends on the show.

We wish Belzer all the best and look forward to seeing who will join the show in the coming weeks, as we’re sure that desk won’t remain unoccupied for long!

Of course this may be goodbye for now, but with Munch simply moving to a position in the homicide department, there’s always the possibility that Belzer will return as a guest star.
