Robbie Williams’ Clothing Line Closes Up Shop

Bad news for all those who wanted to dress like Robbie Williams: his clothing line has filed for voluntary bankruptcy. In 2011, Robbie Williams started a clothing line, directed by former Burberry designer Ben Dickens.

The line was called “Farrell,” named after Williams’ grandfather. The pop star’s clothing has been available online since then, but on August 31, he opened a pop-up shop in Covent Garden in London. The shop was supposed to be running for 6 months.

Williams knew that he couldn’t crack the American market, but he was hoping to be successful in his home country. That wasn’t plausible either, however. His pop-up shop did not fare well — it closed just six weeks after it opened.

But that’s not even the worst of it. The entire company has now been liquidated. The company officially filed for bankruptcy on October 14, 2013. Williams thanked the press and retailers, along with Dickens, in a statement:

“The support of the men’s press and retailers internationally since we started has been incredible and I want to thank them. I have also been fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with the talented Ben Dickens and will miss creating and working with him, and wish him every luck for the future.”

The website for Farrell is now non-functional.
