Kanye West’s Yeezus Tour Kicks Off In Seattle With A Special Guest

Rapper Kanye West’s new tour, the Yeezus Tour, kicked off on Saturday night (October 19) in Seattle’s Key Arena.

Kendrick Lamar was the appointed support act and he certainly did not disappoint, performing a 45-minute set that got things started.

After that, West took the stage with an energy level that awed his fans from the very beginning. The setlist was mostly composed of cuts from his latest album, Yeezus, but even then West managed to slip some old tunes in to please long-time followers.

The stage was just as stark as the show and the performer themselves, featuring a sixty-foot tall mountain as the centerpiece of the show, with an enormous projection screen on the top.

The show only escalated in terms of rawness and antics as time and songs went by, even performing with a man dressed up as the Christian/Catholic version of Jesus Christ and various religious iconography near the end of the concert.

While the Saturday night gig was a success, he was forced to postpone the Vancouver concert set for last night (October 20) due to “unforeseen circumstances”.

The next stop on the list is San Jose, California, with the re-scheduled Vancouver gig taking place shortly after on October 31st.
