Three Times The Bad News For Parks And Rec Fans

We’ve got bad news, some more bad news, then even more bad news (but also subsequent good news) for all you Parks & Recreation fans. NBC has announced that it will bump Parks & Recreation this Thursday in favor of covering a spillover of The Voice as it continues its Battle Rounds. The reality competition will air through the 8 o’clock hour, preempting Parks and filling the empty block that once contained the now-canceled Welcome to the Family.

Bad news number 2, which is by far the worst news, is that we’ll have to wait a few weeks to get our Halloween episode. On Halloween night, NBC has decided to air a thematic SNL special, which will begin with the 8 p.m. time slot. NBC also announced SNL’s Thanksgiving and Christmas special – the former will air on Wednesday November 27 at 10 p.m., the latter on Wednesday December 4 from 9-11 p.m.

In our final piece of bad news, The Voice will once again preempt Parks & Recreation on Thursday November 7 with its live playoffs results show. Originally this had been scheduled for the 9 o’clock primetime hour, but it has since been given the 8 o’clock hour instead.

The good news doesn’t quite make up for the bad, but it gives us something to look forward to, at the very least. On November 14 and 21 we will be able to treat ourselves to back-to-back doses of Leslie Knope! So that’s cool, right?
