Cee-Lo Pleads Not Guilty In Ecstasy Case And Welcomes Investigation

People reported new details on the charges for Cee Lo Green that emerged this week. The 38 year-old singer-songwriter was charged with furnishing ecstasy to a 33 year-old woman in July of 2012. The woman involved in the matter was apparently dining with the star at a downtown LA restaurant when she claims that he supplied her with the drug also known as Molly. Thomas DeCarlo Calloway, known to audiences as Cee Lo Green, the popular star and judge of NBC’s The Voice, pleaded not guilty.

The original allegations brought forth by the anonymous woman involved accusations of a possible sexual assault. These allegations were later declined by the DA after an investigation provided no evidence to substantiate the accusation.

Green welcomed an open investigation of the matter while the singer’s attorney Blair Berk called the assault allegations “false and unfounded” in an official statement. Prosecutors agreed after dropping the investigation due to the aforementioned lack of credit to substantiate the claim.

Appearing in an LA court on Monday afternoon, the “Forget You” singer confidently addressed the issues at hand. Although an official statement was not given by Mr. Green’s representation as of yet, his lawyer provided information regarding his client on the matter. Berk stated that “as it relates to the one charge of furnishing or sharing ecstasy, Mr. Green will responsibly address that matter in a court of law but will not comment on it further out of respect for the process.”
