The Oscar Race For 2014 Gets Smaller As More Films Get Pushed Back

Those looking forward to George Clooney’s The Monuments Men, I have some bad news; the film has been delayed until 2014, thus taking it out of the Oscar race. The film, starring Cate Blanchett, Matt Damon, George Clooney, Bill Murray, John Goodman and so on, was schedule for release on December 18th.

The film, written and directed by Clooney himself, has been moved to allow for more time to work on the visual effects. George says “We just didn’t have enough time. If any of the effects looked cheesy, the whole movie would look cheesy. We simply don’t have enough people to work enough hours to finish it”. This is good because I would rather have a polished final edit than a rushed one, but still…I don’t like waiting!

This delay follows the other films that have been moved and will also no longer be eligible for the Oscar contention. Such films include: Foxcather, Grace of Monaco and The Immigrant. The Wolf of Wall Street was almost delayed but is now confirmed for release on Christmas Day this year!

Upset about the delay? What is your most anticipated movie for the rest of 2013? Sound off below and let us know!
