The final series of Skins aired on E4 earlier this year to mixed reviews as the show took us into the lives of former characters, allowing us to see where they were now. In three separate two-part stories we revisited  Kaya Scodelario’s Effy in Skins Fire, Hannah Murray’s Cassie in Skins Pure and Jack O’Connell’s Cook, in Skins Rise. The final series seemed to divide the fan base into two extremes, some hated it and others loved it. However, according to Joe Dempsie who played everyone’s favourite character Chris Miles, Skins had the “perfect” ending.

Dempsie told Digital Spy at an event that he considered it the ‘perfect way to round off the series.’ The 26-year-old actor went on to inform us that the cast ‘had a few get-togethers’ once the new series had been announced, in which they reminisced and told stories tinged with nostalgia.

Granted a lot of people were rather shocked and dismayed at how Chris’ story-arc ended, with him dying of a brain haemorrhage just like the brother he so admired, Dempsie believes he had the most complete character arc and finds the fact that ‘people still remember him now’ incredibly humbling. Before adding ‘I still don’t know if I’m ever going to better it really.’ However, as he currently plays Gendry, an important character on HBO’s extremely popular fantasy series Game of Thrones, I imagine the best is still yet to come for the British actor.
