Sean May Save The World, But Can He Save The Show?

Sean Hayes is facing problems with his new sitcom Sean Saves the World, which averaged a meagre 3.4 million viewers. The critics of the show have been very harsh, which hasn’t fazed Hayes in the slightest.

In fact, according to the lead actor, the show is:  “the funniest sitcom, to me, on the air right now.” The only issue is the network that is broadcasting it. He told The TV Page, “It’s just the struggle of the elephant in the room which is ‘How do you get viewers to NBC?’ NBC programmes great shows, it just doesn’t have the eyeballs CBS does.”

He is confident for the series though, and isn’t worried about the criticism, seeing as Will & Grace, The Big Bang Theory and Friends had similar reviews when they started. He added, “I watch it and go, ‘Well, this is really f**king funny’. I wouldn’t change anything right now, I think it’s all working.”

Hayes plays the title character: a gay, single father trying to raise his 14 year old daughter. Naturally, it isn’t easy with an interfering Mom and a best friend wreaking havoc. Not to mention the temperamental boss at work.

Have you watched any of Sean Saves the World? Let us know what you think if you have, and if you haven’t, you can watch it on NBC at 9pm.
