Velvet Underground Frontman Lou Reed Has Died

It is has just been announced that Velvet Underground frontman Lou Reed has died.

Reed’s cause of death has not been announced, however the singer did undergo a liver transplant in May of this year.

Lou Reed, who was 71, was best known as the frontman and songwriter for the band Velvet Underground.  He also had a highly successful solo career with hits such as “Walk On The Wild Side” and “Perfect Day.”

Reed was an inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996 with the other members of Velvet Underground.

His last album was Lulu which was released in 2011, and was a collaboration with rock band Metallica.
