It’s one of the great American novels and its adaptation was one of the most opulent cinema experiences of 2013. But then it was directed by Baz Luhrmann, so that should not have come as a big surprise to anyone.
In the lead up to The Great Gatsby’s release on DVD and Blu-ray later this month, a deleted scene from the film has been released online.
The Great Gatsby follows the lives and loves of some of Long Island’s elite over the summer of 1922. It was a time of frivolity, fun and wealth in the US… the carefree days between World War I and the Great Depression.
The 68-second clip is from a conversation between story narrator, Nick Carraway (Tobey Maguire) and the mysterious Jay Gatsby (Leonardo DiCaprio). The discussion takes place while visiting Nick’s cousin, Daisy Buchanan (Carey Mulligan).
The Great Gatsby is out on Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray, DVD and digital download on November 11 in the UK.
