Michael Trevino talks Tyler’s stint on The Originals after last week’s heartache of an episode from The Vampire Diaries.
If you haven’t seen it, it might pay to avert your gaze, or you know, not read this one. If you have, however, you’ll know and be extremely angry (or happy and hopeful if you’re a Klaroline shipper) that Caroline (Candice Accola) and Tyler officially broke up.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Trevino confirms what viewers deduced from Tyler’s decision to leave college (and Caroline) for his vendetta against Klaus (Joseph Morgan), that he would be making an appearance in the spin-off show The Originals, set in New Orleans.
He didn’t give us when, offering only that it was “sometime soon.” Everyone, however, is well aware of ‘why’. No matter how much Tyler loves Caroline, he can’t love her more than he hates Klaus for killing his mother.
How exactly he fits into an already brimming with characters show should prove to be interesting; especially with New Orleans the way it is now. Witches and vampires alike don’t want any more hybrids skulking around, and would Tyler attempt to exact his revenge lone-wolf (pun intended) style or will he align with one of the major players?
The problem, as always with Klaus, is that he’s immortal, all-powerful and therefore impossible to kill. Trevino acknowledges that Tyler’s attempts to deal with Klaus are always a “scary feeling”. Hey, you’re not a true character of The Vampire Diaries and/or The Originals if you don’t die a few more times.
So, what do you think of this development? Hopefully it means more airtime for our favourite douche-jock turned misunderstood- werewolf turned hybrid.
