MTV has a new show in the works, Finding Carter. The drama tells the story of Carter, a teenager who learns that her mother kidnapped her when she was a child.
As we reported previously, Kathryn Prescott (Skins) has signed onto play the title role of Carter, and now The Hollywood Reporter has announced that Angel star Alexis Denisof will fill the role of her birth father, David Wilson.
The character description for Mr. Wilson reads as follows: “Carter’s father… frequently is the family mediator and the most level-headed in the house. As a novelist, he saw his only real success with his true crime novel Losing Lyndon about the disappearance of his daughter. Now that his daughter is back and insisting on being called Carter, he wonders if writing a follow-up book, Finding Carter, would fix what is broken in his family. Money problems and a tenuous marriage plague him, and this memoir could be the cure.”
Denisof joins a cast that already includes Anna-Jacoby Heron (Contagion), Nolan Stillo (Prom), Cynthia Watros (Lost) and newcomer Zach Pullman. Finding Carter is being penned by Bones writer Emily Sliver alongside Terri Minsky with Scott Speer (Step Up 4) set to direct.
