Get A Sneak Peek Of Carrie Underwood In NBC’s The Sound Of Music

Teaser trailers are a few of of my favorite things!

One has been released for the live NBC production of The Sound of Music, which stars country star Carrie Underwood as Maria and True Blood star Stephen Moyer as Captain Von Trapp.  The thirty-second video has behind the scenes clips of rehearsals and excerpts of some of the songs sung by the cast.  These include “My Favorite Things”, “Maria”, “Do-Re-Mi” and “The Sound of Music”.

“It feels so good and we’re doing it live in front of the entire universe,” Underwood says in the video. “The talent is off the charts. These people are amazing.”

The adaption of an iconic musical on live television, especially following the acclaimed movie version in 1965, has drawn its fair share of skeptics.  However, Underwood, as well as the rest of the cast, sounds terrific in the teaser trailer.  We can only wait and see!

This adaption of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical will air on December 5^th at 8 pm in a three-hour-long telecast event on NBC.

The Sound of Music is being produced by Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, who have also been involved in Smash, Hairspray and Chicago.
