It looks like Sean Hayes will be making himself a little more comfortable on NBC once again, as Sean Saves The World is ordered for five more episodes.
This is the first season of the “multi-camera” comedy show that centers on an openly gay single father (Hayes) who is trying to parent his 14-year-old daughter, who has just moved in with him. He has to balance being a parent, while also dealing with his boss, who has a bit of a bad temper.
The series has been struggling with ratings, but had a major boost from The Voice this past Thursday. According to Entertainment Weekly, The Voice had 9.7 million fans watching, while Sean came in fourth place with 4.6 million people tuning in.
The Hollywood Reporter says, “the order for additional scripts comes as NBC looks to firm up its Thursday roster heading into the new year, when Community will join the schedule and Parks and Recreation will become Sean’s new lead-in at 8:30 p.m.”
Hayes is a veteran to the NBC comedy line-up, having starred on the network’s hit, Will and Grace for eight years. Hopefully, some of that luck will start to rub off on this cast and things will turn around for the new sitcom.
