Three years after announcing their secret romance, Johnny Galecki is opening up about his relationship with The Big Bang Theory co-star, Kaley Cuoco.

The two, who play Leonard and Penny on the hit CBS series, dated for two years and didn’t announce their relationship until after they had broken up. In a recent interview with CBS Watch! Magazine, Galecki spoke up about Cuoco.

“We’re dear friends, still,” Galecki told the magazine. “Kaley’s not just an ex, she’s a part of my life.”

Galecki mentioned they kept their relationship a secret because of Penny and Leonard’s on-and-off-again relationship.

“I just don’t like to speak about it,” he continued. “And not because I’m trying to be enigmatic; I just worry that it will conflict with people’s acceptance of Leonard and Penny. I get the curiosity, but I don’t want to distract from the story.”

Cuoco first broke the news of their romance in 2010, after they had split up. She also spoke to CBS Watch! Magazine, saying, “We dated for almost two years. It was such a huge part of my life and no one knew about it.

“This is the first time I’ve ever talked about it, ever. It was a wonderful relationship, but we never spoke a word about it and never went anywhere together.”

Galecki is now dating former Pan Am star Kelli Garner, and Cuoco is engaged to tennis star Ryan Sweeting.
