Gaga’s Risqué Artwork Unveiled At The Louvre

Texan artist and director Robert Wilson worked with Lady Gaga, or Mother Monster as her Little Monsters may call her, earlier this year on a 50-minute film that shows the singer as figures from different works of art.

The video, currently on display at the Louvre museum as part of Wilson’s “Living Rooms” installation, includes Gaga posing as “Mademoiselle Caroline Rivière”. Gaga poses as a disembodied head in “Salomé avec la tête de Saint Jean-Baptiste” and re-enacts Jacques-Louis David’s “The Death of Marat”.

Wilson is one of the artists Gaga worked with during the creation of her latest album ARTPOP.

Last Thursday, Gaga took to Twitter to share a still from the video, with the caption “I know my artiness + musical goals may seem lofty, but there is a POP STAR IN THE LOUVRE, right next to the Mona Lisa”.

This is not the first time Gaga takes part of an art exhibition. She has previously worked with conceptual artist Maria Abramovic practicing performance method, and also posed for Jeff Koons, whose work went on to feature the LP’s cover.

Last Friday, Gaga premiered a promotional shot film for ARTPOP directed by photographers Inez & Vinoodh, which you can watch below.
