Kellan Lutz, the actor known for his role as Emmett Cullen in the popular Twilight franchise, reportedly turned down the chance to play lead, Edward Cullen. The actor told Access Hollywood that his role in Generation Kill left him wanting to play a “happy role or no role,” continuing to say that he “didn’t care to audition for the [role of Edward] because he was a bit moody and emotionally challenged.”
Lutz did, however, say he was open to reprising the role of Emmett if given the opportunity. Of playing Emmett he said, “I’m so blessed to have been able to play him.” “I love everyone. I loved to work with everyone and I loved my role.”
Fans of Lutz will be happy to hear he is playing Hercules in the upcoming movie, Hercules: The Legend Begins, set to come out January 10, 2014. According to Lutz, his take on the character will be different than Dwayane Johnson’s project, also regarding Hercules.
What do you think? Would Lutz have made a better Edward than Robert Pattinson? Tell us in the comments below!
