House Of Cards Season 2 Has A Valentine’s Day Release Date

With the news of House of Cards imminent second season premiere, fans will surely be so happy they will feel like they’ve won a hand of poker with a full house. The Netflix political thriller, that centers on Kevin Spacey’s character, Frank Underwood, will air its second season on February 14, 2014.

Netflix revealed the airdate in a tastefully done black and white teaser trailer. The promo stars Frank’s wife, Claire Underwood (played by Robin Wright). It’s a very streamlined and simple video – very nicely done.
The second season was commissioned at the same time as the first and even though the second season has not yet aired, there are already talks about creating a third season.

On February 1, 2013 the first 13 episodes of House of Cards were simultaneously released to the site. When speaking to journalists about the series earlier this year, Oscar winner, Kevin Spacey described the series as being, “the first series that will ever give out the entire first season in one day.” He went on to say, “it seems to be the direction it’s going in.” Will other programs follow this model of programming? It’s hard to tell, but they have taken the same approach with season two. That means all 13 episodes will be available on Valentine’s Day.

Expect to see a whirlwind of a storyline this season. You will continue to follow the Underwood’s ruthless rise to power. Frank and Claire will have to be careful as they face many threats and dangers, lest they want to loose everything. How exciting!

The star-studded show will also be getting a special guest director, at least for one episode. Jodie Foster will be directing one of the episodes in season 2.
