The trailer for the Wachowskis’s sci-fi epic Jupiter Ascending has hit the web.

Their latest film is an original sci-fi story that promises to defy the boundaries of planet Earth and reach into outer galaxies. Digital Spy reports that Jupiter Ascending is  “a cross between The Matrix and Star Wars”.

The directing duo is responsible for The Matrix, Speed Racer, and Cloud Atlas, among other films.  They paved the way for sci-fi cinema with their creations, and often act as the directors, producers, and screenwriters for their own films.

The trailer features plenty of cosmic action and some choice shots of recognizable Chicago landmarks, such as the Willis Tower.

Mila Kunis and Channing Tatum lead the cast as an unlikely intergalactic pair. Kunis plays Jupiter Jones, a house cleaner that gets mixed up with super-soldier Caine, played by Tatum, and initiates actions that will impact the universe.

Joining Kunis and Tatum are Sean Bean, Eddie Redmayne, Doona Bae, Tim Pigott-Smith, James D’Arcy, Tuppence Middleton, and Douglas Booth.

Jupiter Ascending will open in theaters on July 25, 2014.
