It has been almost two weeks since the world lost a great soul, Paul Walker. The Fast and Furious actor died as a passenger in the car crash, along with his friend, Roger Rodas, who was test driving a limited edition Porsche Carrera GT, in Valencia, CA. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Walker will be cremated, and a service is supposed to take this place this weekend to honor his life. According to E!, the actor’s remains will be cremated, and a private service, to only be attended by family members, will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in the Hollywood Hills. His ashes will also be interred at the cemetery.
They confirmed that his remains had been released to his family, after the L.A. County department of Coroner-Medical Examiner had completed its postmortem. It may take at least 90 days, however, before they know a definite cause of the crash. They do know, however, the deaths were due to a combination of “traumatic and thermal injuries,” and have ruled out the deaths as accidents.
Detective Jeff Maag told The Hollywood Reporter, “We’re creating a factual diagram–Mapping the scene. To the extent that we can, we need to rule out mechanical failure. But the car is a mess.” He also told THR that the car was going at least 45 miles per hour before accident occurred.
There will be another private gathering held this weekend, where friends and family can pay their respects to Walker. It will be larger, but by invitation-only; no media or press will be allowed in.
Fans have been honoring the actor by visiting the site of the accident, leaving flowers and other gifts, and gathered for a public memorial on Sunday. A parade of cars drove through the area, and many people came from other states to honor Walker, saying he had inspired many of them in their love for cars and racing, and wanted to pay tribute to him.
