Is anyone else shocked that Christmas will be here in a few days?! As we all brave the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, let’s make sure we take some time to sit down enjoy some quality time with family and friends. What better way to do that than with a bowl of popcorn, mug of hot cocoa and your favorite holiday movie?!

If you’re running low on ideas, or maybe you’re just indecisive, I’ve come up with a list of potential movie-night-makers that you might enjoy! Check it out.

Christmas Classics
There’s nothing quite as magical (to me) as watching some of the old classic Christmas cartoons that we all have, or should have, grown up watching. We all probably have a special Christmas story that has stuck with us throughout our life and one that no matter how we get, we enjoy watching. Rudolph, Frosty, Jack Frost or maybe mister Heat Miser himself; the classics are just that, classic. You can find a box set pretty easily so no excuses!

How the Grinch Stole Christmas
Whether you’re into the classic, or are more inclined to the modern Jim Carrey version, this is a good bet for an evening on the couch. I’ve attended my fair share of “Grinch” parties as well, so feel free to invite over your grumpy friends for a holiday party they might actually love to hate. I personally love the animated version.

Miracle On 34th Street
This 1947 classic stars the adorable Natalie Wood and fiery red-head Maureen O’Hara. It follows the story of a Macy’s Santa who really believes that he IS Santa, and all the drama that ensues due to his claims. While the halls of Briarcliff may be full of their own delusional Santas, Edmund Gwenn’s spin as the saintly Nicholas is a holiday classic that should be on your list every year.

White Christmas
I mean, duh. This film starred some of Hollywood’s most talented actors, like Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney and Vera-Ellen, among others. The 1954 musical features recognizable classic compositions from Irving Berlin, most notably “White Christmas.” There’s not much more to say other than go watch this movie!

Elf
Will Ferrell leads an all-star cast that includes James Caan, Bob Hewhart, Edward Asner, Mary Steenburgen and Zooey Deschanel in this 2003 instant hit. If you were anything like me and my siblings, you attempted the escalator scene more than once, and probably answered the phone a few times to the tune of, “It’s Buddy the Elf, what’s your favorite color?”

Now, obviously this list could go on and on with National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, Christmas with the Kranks, The Holiday, Love Actually, A Charlie Brown Christmas, The Holiday Inn, It’s A Wonderful Life, Christmas Story and many, many more; but I had to end it somewhere!

What is your favorite movie to snuggle up to during the holidays?
