It was only four days ago when Sherlock premiered on BBC One with its third series and it was a great start of the New Year for Sherlockians. During the special New Year launch, “The Empty Hearse” brought in 9.2 million viewers, its highest ratings to date. Fans saw their favorite detective rise from “The Reichenbach Fall” and reunite with John Watson after two years, going back to mystery solving.
The second episode of the BBC drama, “The Sign of Three”, will premiere Sunday night (January 5) and a new batch of photos has been revealed.
In “The Sign of Three”, it is Watson’s big day! In the two years without Sherlock Holmes, Watson settled down and found love with Mary Morstan (Amanda Abbington). Despite the drama and fake death fiasco, he still asks Sherlock to be his best man.
While all the new photos show the happy couple and dapper best man during the wedding, it’s safe to say that there’s going to be a mystery needing to be solved. In the preview for the episode, there’s much excitement before the wedding, but then Sherlock wants to “play murder” and the wedding reception goes chaotic.
For UK fans, the episode airs January 5th at 8:30pm on BBC One. US fans will have to wait a few more weeks, January 19th to be exact, to catch the series on PBS.
