Attention, all fans of a particular deerstalker hat-wearing, pipe-smoking sleuth (as well as all fans of one awesomely named Brit actor!). Rumour has it that an exhibit is in the works at the Museum of London devoted entirely to mystery’s favorite detective since Nancy Drew, and his modern day representation. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle would be proud!

The grand display of affection and fandom for Sherlock Holmes will focus on the gumshoe’s relationship with his beloved foggy Londontown, and should include many fascinating bits of memorabilia including the original stories from The Strand magazine.  Additionally, Sidnet Paget’s artwork, which introduced the world to that famous profile, will be on hand for attendees to see.  The various depictions of Sherlock and Watson won’t be forgotten, including one very popular current one — Sherlock‘s Benedict Cumberbatch won’t be missing out on any of the fun.

Cumberbatch’s portrayal of Sherlock has proven to be a fan favourite on both sides of the Atlantic, introducing audiences to a modern take on the detective. With Martin Freeman as his Doctor Watson, Cumberbatch has brought to a Victorian detective to the modern world in the popular British crime drama, set to finish its third season with a nail-biting finale.  Undoubtedly, this inclusion to the London exhibit will draw in many attendees of all ages!

There is no word yet as to whether or not the American suspense series “Elementary” will be mentioned in the London display.  Airing on CBS, the show is a mixed gender pairing of the Holmes-Watson duo with Lucy Liu portraying the latter.  Popular, our story is!

Plan your vacation now!!  Any interested fans or museum-goers who would like to attend the exhibit can anticipate a 6-month run from October of 2014 through April of 2015.  A stir is sure to be created!  Oh yes……I’m sure Sir Conan Doyle would be proud!
