Everyone remember that cute little kid in rom com of ages, 10 Things I Hate About You? Well, look at him now!

Since that film, the now 32 year old has achieved, in short, a lot. Star of countless big cinematic hits, such as 500 Days of Summer, Inception and The Dark Knight Rises, this unstoppable man is set to produce the highly anticipated movie adaptation of graphic novel series, The Sandman. Gordon-Levitt, who directed, wrote and starred in (told you he was good!) comedy film Don Jon (2013) is set to be reunited with David S Goyer, screenwriter of The Dark Knight Rises.

The Warner Bro’s new film is set to follow the plot of the first instalment of the series, as Gordon-Levitt has previously tweeted ‘#prelude’, referring to the title of the first issue. He has not confirmed this is the case, insisting the project is still in its “early days”. Which also means he still hasn’t confirmed any directorial or acting role either.

The graphic novel series, written by Neil Gaiman and illustrated by Dave McKean, tell of the life of lord of dreams, Morpheus. Gordon-Levitt, a seemingly huge fan himself, tells IGN of his excitement to be part of the project.

“I love just the basic concept of it – just the concept of personifying Dream, along with all of his brothers and sisters, the seven Endless personifying Death, personifying Destruction and Delirium and Destiny and Desire and Despair.”

The star then goes on to describe his original desire to get involved. He explains that it’s all down to the “concept” of the film. He promises the film will be just as spectacular as all big-screen films, but won’t end in the typical “explosion”.

“Sandman has so much opportunity to do something that’s on a grand, grand scale, but really unlike your average big, grand-scale, spectacular movie.”

For fans of the series, it’s safe to say the new film is most definitely in good hands!
