British Director Hamish Hamilton Handed The Reins Of This Year’s Oscar Ceremony

British director Hamish Hamilton will be in charge of directing the 86th Academy Awards ceremony. This is the second time for Hamilton after directing the 82nd Oscars ceremony in 2010, which was hosted by Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin.

Hamilton is best known for directing award shows and concert videos, some of his latest works being Beyoncé’s Super Bowl half-time show and last year’s VMAs.

He was awarded with the BAFTA Special Award on april of last year, and won a second BAFTA for Multi-Camera Directing the London Olympic Opening Ceremonies. He will also direct Bruno Mars performance for this year’s Super Bowl Half-Time Show.
