Awards show season is in full swing! It’s an exciting season that comes with your typical fashion hits and misses and showtime digs and disses.

One such diss came during the SAG awards ceremony when Cate Blanchett took the stage to accept her award for Best Actress for her film Blue Jasmine. Blanchett also won the Golden Globe in this category.

“I’ve been away from the film industry for a long time making theater … 29 seconds?! Matthew McConaughey spoke about Neptune and I think I can have five seconds,” the star said to the applause of the crowd.

Blanchett was more-or-less taking a shot at the show’s procedures rather than McConaughey. McConaughey’s lengthy speech for Best Actor was strange, to say the least, as he talked about going to Neptune in a spaceship and a Russian man who built a boat; so Cate had every right to be annoyed that her time was being cut short when she actually had something to say.

Both Blanchett and McConaughey are nominated for Oscar’s in the Best Actress/Best Actor categories, so let’s hope their speeches fair a bit better come show time.
