Lorde (aka: Ella Maria Lani Yelich-O’Connor) became a global sensation when her single Royals topped the charts in in her country of New Zealand, but also the Billboard Hot 100. This made Lorde the first-ever Kiwi musician to land a number one single in America. Lorde’s debut album, Pure Heroine earned her four Grammy nominations.
Though, it seems Lorde isn’t the only musical prodigy in the O’Connor household.
Lorde’s younger sister, India Yelich-O’Connor, made her musical debut this week when she posted a song to Soundcloud. Her cover of “Say Something” by A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera raked in over 100,000 listens in just a few days after she posted it to her blog and twitter accounts, according to the Huff Post.
The 15 year-old describes herself as someone with a “fresh sense of mind,” and if she’s anywhere near as talented as her sister, we should be in for a real treat, should she decide to pursue a career in music.
