We hope you’ve been practicing your whistle, because the official movie poster for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part One has been released! The symbol of Panem’s rebellion has changed, showing the mockingjay with open wings.

Open to the possibility of change? Maybe!

On deciding whether or not to split the film into two parts, as has been the trend in recent saga films, director Francis Lawrence claimed that it would add more depth to the feature. This allows for more of what happens in the book to make it onto the big screen.

“The good thing is by splitting it in two you actually will get more of the book in the movies because you have a little more time for each part. There’s also room for some surprises and additions.”

But while we can expect more coherence between page and screen, Lawrence says we should not expect any added time. “The movies won’t be quite as long, they’ll be slightly shorter than Catching Fire.”

Jennifer Lawrence returns as Katniss Everdeen when The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part One hits theaters November 21, 2014. The second part of the end of the saga can be expected in 2015.
