Grey’s Anatomy stars Patrick Dempsey and Ellen Pompeo have signed on for two more years of the ABC drama.
The show hasn’t officially been picked up for its eleventh season, but that hasn’t stopped the fan favorites from renewing their contracts and continuing their journey as Derek and Meredith.
According to Hollywood Reporter, Grey’s is tied with Scandal and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D as “the network’s top series among the advertiser-coveted adults 18-49 demographic with 4.7 rating.”
It hasn’t been announced whether some of the other original cast members, like Justin Chambers, Chandra Wilson, James Pickens Jr., and Sara Ramirez will be coming back when their contracts expire at the end of the season, TV Line announced. Sandra Oh, however, is set to leave in May.
Dempsey said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, “Its been a remarkable journey to be around for 10 seasons…And we want to enjoy it as much as we can.”
Twitter sure seems to be very excited about the return of the beloved couple and fingers crossed that other cast members will announce their return very soon.
