It has been announced that cable network HBO has cancelled two of their series after their premier seasons, reports Entertainment Weekly.
The first, Family Tree, premiered in May 2013 and stars Christopher Guest as a Brit looking to find his family roots in the US. The show was plagued by low ratings from the start.
The other series getting the axe is Hello Ladies, a comedy series starring Stephen Merchant as a single guy looking for love in L.A.
Though Family Tree will no longer air any more new episodes, there will be a wrap up show aired at a yet unannounced time for Hello Ladies which, according to ratings, had a slightly larger following.
The loss of these shows further clears the schedule for the premium network as favorites True Blood and Boardwalk Empire are in their final seasons. There are talks, however to keep the show Getting On, which stars Laurie Metcalf and Alex Borstein, for a second season.
