Frozen Puts The Freeze On The Lion King As It Soars Past The $800 Million Mark

The Oscar nominated hit from Disney has yet to be stopped! Frozen surpassed The Lion King this past weekend, taking the second place spot as one of Disney’s highest grossing animated films…ever! Don’t turn a cold shoulder to Disney’s newest success story; there’s room for everyone in your movie cabinet!

According to The Wrap, this past weekend propelled Frozen passed the $800 million dollar mark and put it ahead of The Lion King and second only to Finding Nemo.

Currently sitting comfortably around $810 million and with openings still to come in China and Japan, Frozen could go on to surpass The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug and The Hunger Games.

Will Disney’s new hit be able to freeze out Marlin, Dory and our favorites from Finding Nemo?
