Darryl Robinson, host of Cooking Channel’s Drink Up, was found dead in his New York City apartment on Wednesday morning.

50 year old Robinson was found after a concerned friend reported concerns to the police.  Initial reports have indicated that he was found “fully clothed” “laying face down on his bed”.While the investigation is still ongoing, police say there were no drugs or paraphernalia in the mixologist’s home. Furthermore, there were no signs of trauma or forced entry.

Initial reports suggest he passed away around 9 p.m. on Tuesday, but a medical examiner will determine Robinson’s ultimate cause of death.

The Cooking Channel tweeted about the loss of one of their own:

According to Robinson’s Cooking Channel bio, he moved to NYC after college in the hopes of becoming an actor. Instead he spent “10 years honing the craft of mixology.” He was well respected in the industry and served as a consultant to bars and restaurants.

Our thoughts are with his friends and family.
