While many remember him from his days on The O.C., Ben McKenzie will try to reach a darker level of fandom as he has just been cast as a young Commissioner Gordon in the upcoming Batman origin series from FX.
According to Variety, the series, (titled Gotham), will focus on the young James Gordon and his early days in Gotham City.
The series will also see a much younger Bruce Wayne, who has yet to be cast.
McKenzie is no stranger to the Batman series, as he voiced Bruce Wayne/Batman in the 2011 animated feature Batman: Year One.
Concerning the series itself, Bruno Heller has helmed the script and will produce alongside Danny Cannon, who was in charge of the pilot.
