Leona Lewis will make her film debut in the new British musical, Walking on Sunshine, directed by Max Giwa and Dania Pasquini. The film is set to be released in theatres June 13th of this year, and set to popular hit songs of the 1980s. Lewis will star as an actor and singer, along with Katy Brand and Sense and Sensibility actor, Greg Wise.

In an interview with Digital Spy, the X-Factor champion detailed the process, “It was something that just came along really, really quickly and this year my intention was to get refocused and re-inspired and it was perfect timing, I have done a lot of theatre work before, but it was quite a few years ago so getting back into that was kind of scary. It gave me a chance to learn a lot from the people on set and for a lot of people it was their first movie as well, so we kind of felt the nerves together.”

It will be exciting to see the musician’s transition into film. But we already know her singing will be perfect!
