Recently we told you about a “Dumb Starbucks” opening up in the Los Angeles area. Well, it looks as though if you didn’t grab a Dumb Grande Soy Salted Caramel Frap from the parody store, you no longer have the opportunity!
The coffee shop has reportedly been shut down as of Monday for “operating without a health permit.” Everything about the store was strikingly similar to a regular Starbucks coffee shop, except the word “dumb” was written in front of everything.
The store was originally a publicity stunt for Comedy Central’s Nathan Fielder and his hit show “Nathan For You.” Although the public seemed to find the store a hilarious prank, Starbucks was less than thrilled about the idea. A Starbucks spokesperson told The Huffington Post, “We are evaluating next steps and while we appreciate the humor, they cannot use our name, which is a protected trademark.”
I guess all good things must come to an end!
