In a recent interview with Capital FM, Liam Payne, of the much-loved and -loathed London-based boy band, One Direction, makes a bold claim:
“People say we don’t work hard and it’s all a game and whatever. We just wanna make good music, and this album — honestly, every lad out there tonight who’s thinking One Direction are this and that. Literally, next album — pick up our album and see what you feel.”
Despite recent rumors that the band was on the rocks, Payne was quick to dispel doubts about the status of One Direction and its members. Not only are the young performers still going strong, they’ve been hard at work recording a new album that will impress both fans critics alike. According to Payne, anyway.
“We have been writing away for the next album and rehearsals are just about to start soon for the tour. We’re not splitting up. We’re on WhatsApp messaging each other all the time, talking about song ideas and just funny stuff from our day,” Payne said while on the air with Capital FM. “It’s been a while since we have all been together so we are enjoying being back in each other’s company.”
The rumors are thought to have spawned as a result of a Tweet made by Niall Horan.
Fellow One Direction member Harry Styles has also stepped forward to assure concerned fans that the band wasn’t going anywhere any time soon.
Unfortunately for their adoring public (and the detractors they’re determined to sway), the band has not dropped any details regarding the upcoming album’s release date.
