We’ve got some news hot off the presses for you LGBT members and allies! Today, via judge’s order, same-sex marriage is now legally recognized in the notoriously conservative state of Kentucky, according to a tweet released by the Associated Press.
BREAKING: With judge's order, same-sex marriage now legally recognized in Kentucky.

However, don’t get too excited, as the inevitable and disappointing stay has been requested by Kentucky’s Attorney General. The request asks a federal judge to delay the order that Kentucky must now recognize all same-sex marriages performed outside of the country and state for ninety days.
Since the news of the landmark ruling just broke, the two-page filing was obviously already drafted, ready to be filed in an attempt to quash progress. The Honorable John C Heyburn II is responsible for overturning a portion of the gay marriage ban, and has been quoted as saying that the ban (which has been enforced since 2004) treats “gay and lesbian persons differently in a way that demeans them.”
Stick with PopWrapped as the details of this case continue to unfold. The only thing we know for sure at this point is that this ruling is one giant step in the right direction for Kentucky and the nation as whole.
